Alex Payne, Vice President Client Services, SySys Corporation; over 12 years experience managing web development, software development and IT projects. His experience ranges from working with external clients in vendor type relationships, as well as internal stakeholders at various levels in a corporate setting. He has several years financial planning experience and received a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Ed Schmal, Vice President Finance & Accounting, CUILA, LLC; over 30 years experience managing corporate, operational and financial plans, business valuation, and budgeting for medium and large sized businesses, including a Fortune 500 Telecommunications company; B.S. Business Administration, Louisiana State University and Master of Business Administration, University of Chicago.

James Lebar, Associate, Berkshire Advisor Resource; Over 3 years experience owning, managing and building personal financial planning practice. Currently advises clients on issues related to decreasing taxes, increasing income, and preserving their wealth. Previously spent over 7 years in the financial planning department at Merrill Lynch. He also spent 5 years building corporate financial experience with 2 Fortune 500 companies. Responsible for creating efficiencies in automated reporting, resulting in increased revenue and enhanced cash flow. Jim currently serves as a director on two other boards; B.S. Business Administration - Finance, Regis University, Denver, Colorado.

Katja Christensen; has over 15 years of extensive management experience in diverse fields including finance and accounting, field operations, customer service and support, and human resources. Katja is currently Finance Director for the Information Technologies division at IHS, Inc. Prior to joining IHS, Katja was Finance Director for Qwest Communications where she supported Information Technologies for the last two years and prior to that Network Operations. Prior to Qwest, Katja was the Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations for T-NETIX in Colorado. Katja began her career with KPMG Peat Marwick as an Audit Manager. Katja holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Colorado. She also holds an MS in Accounting from the University of Denver.

L. Todd Abeyta; over nine years of management and leadership experience in both the public and private sectors where serving in a number of capacities that included finance, strategic planning, domestic and international audit, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance (section 404) in both the US and Canada. Prior to entering the private sector Todd was the Planning and Budgeting Director at the Colorado Department of Revenue. He earned his MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

 

Mark Hutchinson, Business Manager, Qwest Communications International, Inc.; more than 20 years experience working at several management positions in the Telecommunications industry. His most recent assignment was the lead Manager for the Information Technologies Program Management Office managing the business operations and application development processes for approved technology initiatives throughout the company. Previously, he spent three years directing the DSL Western region deployment for Covad Communications one of the nation's leading DSL service providers. Prior to Covad, Mr. Hutchinson served as part of a change management team at U.S. West, now Qwest Communications, where he was responsible for the VDSL (Voice, video and data) deployment, repositioning the cost structure, and improving customer satisfaction; B.S. Business Management, University of Phoenix.

 

Steve Moreno, Clerk and Recorder, Weld County, Colorado; over 20 years experience in the government sector including managing multiple departments, elections and legislative issues. Currently oversees the Recording department – responsible for processing & preserving documents for public record; the Election department – responsible for voter registration including the compilation of ballots, general and special county elections; tabulation of election day results, and certification of the election; and the Motor Vehicle department where he acts as an agent for the State of Colorado, Department of Revenue in titling and licensing all motor vehicles purchased, leased or entering the state.
